For the group of Nordic Countries, which have decided to sign these agreements all together, that with San Marino is the hundredth agreement signed. This event has been marked by a ceremony, in which Secretary of State Mularoni has participated.
Mrs. Mularoni has expressed her satisfaction with this further result achieved, which “confirms the San Marino determination to continue the process already started and characterised by transparency and international cooperation. It also further demonstrates how the States have a renewed appreciation for the Republic of San Marino”.
During the morning, Secretary of State Mularoni has had a series of meetings at the Secretariat of FATF (Financial Action Task Force) and of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). On this occasion, the interlocutors have underlined the changes made to the San Marino legislation in 2009 and the commitments undertaken for the immediate future concerning the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as the adoption of international standards in the field of transparency and collaboration.
Mrs. Mularoni has recalled that San Marino has already concluded the negotiations for these kinds of agreements with other sixteen European and non-European countries and it is only waiting for a decision on the final signing date. United Kingdom will be the next country with which a TIEA will be soon signed.
