The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Antonella Mularoni, talks from Qatar, where she is attending the 10th Doha Forum, to censure the serious attack carried out today by Israel in the sea in front of the Gaza Strip.
I express my firmest condemnation of an act about which Israel shall provide the world with the most extensive clarifications. If, as it is currently being reported by the mass-media, it was an attack launched against a humanitarian flotilla delivering aid to the people living in the tormented Gaza Strip ad perpetrated in the international sea, it is unjustifiable under international law and, above all, from a human point of view. The event aroused indignation and great dismay in all Arab world represented at the Doha Round, because it seriously affects a peace process difficult to be carried out. I reiterate that the Republic of San Marino has always considered the right of the two Peoples and States to live together in that region in mutual respect to be just and fair. Todays massacre is a huge step behind on the path towards dialogue and my Country will certainly intensify its efforts in international fora so that this path, the only to be pursued, can be taken again as soon as possible.
