Visit of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia

Minister Renzi met today with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Marija Pejčinović Burić.

During the meeting, the numerous areas of collaboration were discussed, both bilaterally and in the multilateral context.

Particular attention was given to the relationship between the Republic of San Marino and the Council of Europe, which has always been characterised by an active commitment at the political, diplomatic, institutional and parliamentary levels.

In this regard, the Croatian Minister was welcomed in the Government Building by the San Marino Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which will soon be in Strasbourg for the election of the new Secretary General.

The two Ministers of Foreign Affairs focused on various issues of common interest and expressed their desire to intensify diplomatic relations and cooperation within the major international organizations.
“San Marino and Croatia are indissolubly linked for historical reasons, first and foremost for the origins of our Holy Founder - Minister Renzi said - but they are also united by various forms of collaboration in the bilateral and multilateral context, which we certainly hope to intensify in the future”. 

During the meeting, Minister Renzi also spoke about San Marino process toward a greater European integration, recalling Croatia's friendship and support, which will be further confirmed in the near future, during the Croatian Presidency of the European Union in the first semester 2020.
