San Marino maintains official relations with the European Union.
San Marino Parliamentary Delegations participate in the
Interparliamentary Union, in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
On 13 May 1999, San Marino became a Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
From May to November 2006, San Marino held the Vice Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
From 15 November 2006 to 11 May 2007, San Marino held for the second time the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Due to the fact that the Republic of San Marino is a member State of the above-listed international organisations, San Marino citizens have the possibility to participate in their competitions to be recruited for vacancies, or to undertake unpaid internships, when envisaged.
