Seven new Ambassadors accredited to San Marino

Seven Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary have presented today the Letters of Credence to Their Excellencies the Captains Regent, H.E. Matteo Fiorini and H.E. Enrico Carattoni.

In his presentation speeches, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicola Renzi, focussed on the specificities of the bilateral relations already existing with the respective countries of origin and expressed his hope of a further improvement, in the context of the ongoing process of internationalisation.

The new Ambassadors presenting their credentials were: H.E. Sergey Nurtayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Tasia Athanasiou, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Jesús Manuel Gracia Aldaz, Ambassador of Spain, H.E. Margit F. Tveiten, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Choi Jong-hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Ricardas Šlepavičius, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania and H.E. Paul Dühr, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

After this ceremony, two diplomatic representatives of the Republic took the oath and will therefore increase the staff already working in two major missions. Ms. Laurence Majoie will serve as Minister at the Permanent Mission of San Marino to the United Nations and other international organizations based in Geneva, and Father Ciro Benedettini as Embassy Counsellor at the Permanent mission of San Marino to the Holy See. The latter, an honorary citizen of the Republic, has been working as deputy director of the Holy See press office for decades. His proven experience and deep spirit of service will allow his capacities to serve the interest of the Republic and its institutions.
