Commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On 27 January, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicola Renzi will pay a visit to the ancient ghetto of San Marino, where Jewish used to live in Vicolo dei Forni.

In this place, exactly ten years ago, a carved plaque made of San Marino stone was unveiled in commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust, as proposed by the local federation member of the Italian Association of Veterans and Soldiers.

The commemoration ceremony will also be attended by the Bishop of San Marino and Montefeltro Diocese,  Monsignor Andrea Turazzi, by the head of the San Marino Research Centre on Emigration, Ms. Patrizia Di Luca, and by a delegation of high school students.

Tomorrow night, at 8 p.m., San Marino RTV will broadcast the tv programme SERENISSIMA. In the television studio, the director, Mr Carlo Romeo, together with Minister Renzi, Ms. Patrizia Di Luca and a group of young people will discuss the issue of past and present persecutions.
