The Republic of San Marino prepares to welcome young San Marino citizens taking part in the Cultural Stays

Once again this year, San Marino is preparing to welcome young San Marino citizens taking part in the Cultural Stays that start tomorrow, Wednesday 11 July.

Seventeen youths will participate in total, including eleven from Argentina (representing all the San Marino communities in Argentina) four members of the San Marino Associations in the USA and two from Grenoble, France. Many of them will meet for the first time in San Marino. Although they have never visited the Republic, they know it well thanks to the stories of their relatives who emigrated in the past centuries.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration and with the support of Public Administration officials, has prepared an intensive program including Italian language lessons, San Marino history, dialect and traditional cuisine, as well as visits to local manufacturing companies and cultural organisations and meetings with school and sports representatives. Participants will also take part in nature excursions organised in collaboration with "La Genga" Association.

A usually keenly awaited event is the Audience in the Government Building granted by Their Excellencies the Captains Regent. This represents a meaningful conclusion of the participants’ path towards discovering the institutions and laws of San Marino. These are the subject of detailed study during the three weeks of stay in the Republic.

Participants will be supported by a coordinator and three language tutors, selected through a public call for applications: Linda Borgagni (Coordinator), Beatrice Simoncini (English), Laura Francesca Barbieri (French) and Luca Guiducci (Spanish).
