The 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of San Marino and the Republic of Korea has been celebrated today in San Marino. This event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to San Marino, Kwon Hee-seog, accompanied by a political and diplomatic delegation and some representatives of the Korean economic sector.

The Korean Embassy strongly supported the celebration of this anniversary, thus confirming the lively relations between the two countries and the intention to further strengthen cooperation at all levels. The Korean Ambassador and his accompanying delegation were granted an official Audience at the Government Building by the Captains Regent Francesco Mussoni and Giacomo Simoncini and were presented to them by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari. Subsequently, they were received by Minister Beccari at Palazzo Begni, where they discussed the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Minister Beccari reported on the recent increase in diplomatic and consular staff accredited to Korea and on the willingness to carry out exchanges and conclude agreements in the fields of tourism, technological and digital development, education, culture and investments.

The Ambassador fully confirmed the Korean Government's willingness to strengthen relations in the areas also highlighted by Minister Beccari, in addition to the multilateral fora, where cooperation is intense.

The Audience was followed by an enlarged meeting, attended by the Minister of Industry Fabio Righi and some representatives of San Marino National Association of Industrialists and of the Development Agency - Chamber of Commerce. The meeting focused on economic development opportunities of mutual interest, with particular reference to a process of progressive attraction of Korean investments to the Republic of San Marino.

“For our Republic it is paramount to encourage entrepreneurs to operate on foreign markets - said Minister Beccari concerning the importance of this meeting in encouraging economic cooperation between the two countries - in order to seize the transformations and opportunities, and to increase competitiveness, innovation and the economic growth of San Marino.”
