Five new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary presented their Letters of Credence to the Captains Regent, H.E. Alessandro Scarano and H.E. Adele Tonnini.

These are: H. E. Ali Javed, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Julieta Anabella Machuca y Machuca, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador, H.E. Renato Mosca de Souza, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil,  H.E. Maria Pérez Tuna, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala,  H.E. Aleksei Paramonov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation

Yesterday, Minister Beccari met at Palazzo Begni with the new Ambassadors to discuss the state of bilateral relations and the possibilities for their development and relaunch.

While introducing the new diplomats to the Captains Regent, Minister Beccari emphasised the important role played by each of them, both in bilateral and multilateral relations, and the desire to extend the areas of collaboration with their respective countries.

The Minister also illustrated the work being done by San Marino to strengthen its relationship with the European Union, in view of the forthcoming signing of the Association Agreement, which will represent a turning point in the process of economic and social development of the country, also in relation to the international community.

The value and importance of multilateralism was reiterated, which is considered essential to face present and future challenges: “All countries - said the Minister - must work to give multilateralism a new impetus. Indeed, only at a multilateral level can the fundamental principles regulating and guaranteeing harmonious relations between nations be promoted and defended, and the cultural and economic gap that continues to keep too many countries on the outskirts of humanity be reduced.

At the end of the ceremony, the new Ambassadors signed the Book of Illustrious Guests.
