Today Minister of Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari participated in the conference: ‘From the Heart of the Peninsula to the World’. Synergies between San Marino and Italy for business competitiveness and resilience'. The meeting held in Bologna was organised by the Chamber of Commerce - Agency for Economic Development - as part of the investment promotion and attraction process and in the wider frame of economic development policies.
Also participating were Minister of Finance Marco Gatti and Minister of Industry Rossano Fabbri, together with EU and supranational taxation expert Piergiorgio Valente, President of Chamber of Commerce Emanuel Colombini and its Director General Denis Cecchetti.
The meeting is targeted to groups of entrepreneurs and professional bodies particularly interested in learning about the new development in the Republic of San Marino, as a result of its opening up to the international and European context, and its impact on the economic, social and business systems.
Moderated by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Ilaria Vesentini, the conference delved into business competitiveness in the global scenario, especially favoured in San Marino by its constant alignment with international parameters on transparency and tax cooperation.
This was the occasion to deepen the integration process of San Marino which will culminate in the signature of the Association Agreement with the European Union. This will open up new opportunities and will pair San Marino to the other EU Member States in the matters covered by the Agreement.
Minister Beccari, also by the active contribution of Prof. Roberto Baratta who followed the entire negotiation process, emphasised the importance of the current phase of leading up to the signing of the Agreement and its subsequent implementation. He underlined the numerous opportunities in the economic, social and cultural spheres and the broader prospects that may open up for the new generations.
Minister Beccari recalled the worth of such occasions of conference for San Marino spread out and share its experience and dialogue around issues which of high impact for San Marino institutions and its people.
‘San Marino in the phase of European integration does not start from a situation of complete third-party status,’ said Minister Beccari, ’yet, for years now, the Republic has been engaged in a process of European regulatory alignment on various issues, such as, by way of example, privacy, product compliance, and anti-money laundering.’
