The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that from today until Wednesday, 26 February, a Delegation of GREVIO - Group of independent Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence – will be in San Marino. Today's visit is part of the first thematic evaluation round focusing on “Building trust by providing support, protection and justice”.

The GREVIO Delegation in charge of carrying out the current monitoring will meet with Representatives of Institutions, Authorities, Public Offices and civil society entities involved in preventing and combating violence against women.

On this first day of talks the Experts of the Committee were welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, the Minister of Justice, Stefano Canti, the Minister of Health with responsibility for Equal Opportunity, Mariella Mularoni, the Minister of Education and Culture, Teodoro Lonfernini, and the Director of the Economic Development Department and Director of the Labour and Cooperation Department, Silvia Ricci. The Delegation also met with the Authority for Equal Opportunities in its capacity as national body responsible for the implementation of the Istanbul Convention and all institutional actors involved in the promotion of equal opportunities.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, expressed the hope that the Delegation would be able to find all the information necessary for the best outcome of the assessment, reiterating the willingness of the San Marino Institutions and all the actors involved in the anti-violence network to present the most recent developments adopted by the Republic in combating, raising awareness and preventing gender-based violence and domestic violence.
