The Minister of Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari, with his accompanying delegation, is paying an official visit to Moscow.

Yesterday afternoon Minister Beccari met with the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, with whom the respective systems and further opportunities for cooperation in the banking and financial fields were discussed. In the morning, Minister Beccari met with the Minister of Health, Michail Muraško.

A wide-ranging and detailed discussion allowed getting an even more direct insight into Russia's processes and strategies to combat COVID-19, also with a view to fostering closer cooperation among States.

The steps of the bilateral relations between the two countries were recalled, and further collaboration opportunities were explored, in continuity with previous experience.

Minister Beccari also discussed with the Russian Minister the opportunities for exchanging expertise in the field of health and mutual recognition of vaccination certificates.

This meeting was a first preparatory step to a direct dialogue between the Health Ministers of the two countries.

In the afternoon, Minister Beccari visited the headquarters of Generium Pharmaceutical, the Russian pharmaceutical company where the Sputnik V vaccine is produced. Minister Beccari had the opportunity to visit both the Research and Development Centre and the Production Centre.
