The second edition of the cycle of meetings entitled "San Marino towards Europe. The contents of the Agreement" was presented today at a press conference. It includes three informative meetings on the contents of the Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union.

This initiative is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Mutual Aid Society, in cooperation with the Research Centre for International Relations of the University of San Marino.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, introduced the project and will speak during the public meetings together with the President of the Mutual Aid Society, Marino Albani, and the Professor of the University of San Marino, Michele Chiaruzzi.

Following the success of the previous edition, this format received positive feedback both in terms of citizen participation and analysis of the issues; now, also thanks to the conclusion of the negotiations last December, the format of the meetings will be more focused on the topics of the Agreement, analysing its contents and giving wide space to questions from participants and questions sent remotely using the communication channels indicated in the event poster.

"The cycle of public meetings," said Minister Beccari, "is also absolutely in line with the commitment to inform and involve the public with regard to the topics of the Association Agreement. The Ministry is preparing cycles of meetings for the San Marino public administration on the most specific topics for this sector. There will also be more and more initiatives of this kind as soon as it will be possible to disclose the text of the Agreement".

"The continuation of these meetings will further achieve the objective of disseminating the contents of the Agreement, in the awareness of the citizens' right and duty to take an interest in them since they are an expression of the country's future," said the President of the Mutual Aid Society.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the event's promoters, invites the public to participate in large numbers in the first event on the institutional framework of the Agreement, scheduled for Thursday 29 February at the Sala Montelupo in Domagnano at 8.45 p.m.
