The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari is in Argentina to attend the XXXI Meeting of the Communities of San Marino citizens in Argentina and the XXV Meeting of Young San Marino citizens in Argentina.

Minister Beccari is accompanied by his Government Colleague, the Minister of Finance and Budget, Marco Gatti, and a delegation of diplomatic and administrative officials.

Yesterday, many fellow citizens enthusiastically took part in the annual meeting of the seven Communities of San Marino citizens in Argentina, which this year took place in Córdoba and they were welcomed by the Ambassador to the Argentine Republic, Giovanni Maria D'Avossa, the Honorary Consul General of San Marino in Buenos Aires, Viviana Daniela Gennari and the President of the Association of San Marino citizens residing in Cordoba Capital, Graciela Giardi.

The annual meeting was characterised by strong emotion and a profound sense of belonging, which unites fellow San Marino citizens spread across the many communities in the vast Argentine territory. It was an opportunity to discuss with Minister Beccari the many issues of concern for fellow citizens living abroad.

Minister Beccari delivered a speech during the debates which had also taken place during the last Council of San Marino citizens living abroad held in San Marino last October. The speech opened the consequent debate on equal rights in the electoral, cultural, socio-health and civil status fields. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the cultural stays of young San Marino citizens and to the increased participation of citizens expected for the 50th Council of San Marino citizens living abroad, which will take place in San Marino in October 2023. 

With regard to the negotiation of the Association Agreement with the European Union, Minister Beccari informed those present of the opportunities that the conclusion of the agreement will open up for fellow San Marino citizens and, given the interest and active participation in the debate of the young people in the room, he also mentioned the new opportunities for training abroad. 

Minister Beccari also informed the Argentine Community of the conclusion of the technical negotiation of a Convention and Administrative Agreement on Social Security between San Marino and Argentina, and emphasised his commitment to the forthcoming finalisation of an important agreement on the recognition of qualifications. 

Minister Gatti also spoke on issues falling within his competence, prompted by the many members of the Communities.
