The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, held a series of meetings in Argentina, which began with his participation in the XXXI° Meeting of the Communities of San Marino citizens in Argentina and the XXV° Meeting of Young San Marino citizens in Argentina, which ended yesterday with an institutional meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Santiago Andrés Cafiero.
The wide-ranging and extensive discussion was an opportunity to implement the existing agreements and fostered the further strengthening of relations, including through agreements that are still being negotiated. The two Ministers acknowledged the developments on important bilateral issues and the excellent cooperation in the multilateral field. The spirit of constant cooperation was broadly confirmed through the signing of a Joint Communication between the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs, which outlines the projects on which both States focus their institutional commitment.
"The technical negotiations on the Social Security Agreement have substantially been concluded," reports Minister Beccari, “and the Agreement on the Recognition of Qualifications will be finalised in the coming months. The foundations for a future bilateral agreement regulating Working Holiday opportunities in the two states were also laid".
The meeting was also an opportunity to determine future priorities in the economic and financial fields, while evaluating the Double Taxation and Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements.
Minister Beccari also emphasised the existing bonds with San Marino citizens residing in Argentina, confirming his full willingness to conclude agreements that could eliminate existing limitations in terms of labour, taxes and social security.
While recognising the undisputed value represented by San Marino citizens living abroad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Budget, Marco Gatti, held a fruitful meeting with the Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat, Santiago Maggiotti, the first Argentine Minister of San Marino origin.
